Richard Litwin recently co-authored an article that appeared in the September-October 2010 issue of the Journal of State Taxation. The article, entitled "Alabama Appeals Court Reverses Course on Sourcing Nonresident Income" addresses the recent decision in James E. Prince, Jr. v. Alabama Department of Revenue, in which the Court of Civil Appeals ruled that Alabama can impose income tax on a nonresident's gain from the sale of stock that occurs outside Alabama.
